Armed robbers attacked 2014/2015 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions, Enyimba FC (Aba) on Monday afternoon.
According to Enyimba's official Twitter handle, the team bus of the two time African champions who were traveling to Kaduna to participate in the Super 4 organised by the League Management Company (LMC) for Nigerian teams playing on the continent were attacked by armed robbers. The all time NPFL highest goal scorer, Enyimba's Mfon Udoh also confirmed the incident as well on social media.
Enyimba tweet reads: "We can confirm that our team bus was attacked by armed robbers this afternoon in Okene, Kogi State on our way to Kaduna for the #SuperFour. Thankfully, there were no injuries during this unfortunate incident. Players and officials were however stripped of all valuables"
Mfon Udoh wrote on his Facebook timeline: "We just got robbed on our way to Kaduna for the Super 4 tournament but all thanks to God because we were neither injured nor beaten. #TeamEnyimba".
