SWAN Inaugurates Golden Jubilee Committee In Kaduna

The National Executive committee of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria SWAN on Saturday in Kaduna North west Nigeria, inaugurated the committee saddled with the responsibility of organizing a befitting Golden jubilee anniversary for the Association.

The Collin Udoh led 12-man committee was inaugurated by the National president of SWAN Alh. Saidu Abubakar at the Media Centre of the Ahmadu Bello stadium in Kaduna.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, SWAN president Abubakar said the decision to organize the event was approved by both the National executive committee and the full council meeting of the Association.

He said that the event was earlier scheduled to hold last year but according to him, several factors which included logistics problem led to the inability of the Association to hold the event, stressing that it was better late than never.

The SWAN boss who expressed confidence in the caliber of the members charged the committee to organize a befitting event for the Association and Nigeria sports in general.

Responding on behalf of the committee, the Chairman Mr Collin Udoh said he felt honoured by the confidence reposed in him and other committee members and assured that the committee would do the needful by organizing a memorable event.

He added that the legacy of the founding fathers of the Association 50 years ago could only be sustained if the present leadership and members of SWAN could make a remarkable impact that would be remembered in the next 50 years by future members.

The committee after its inauguration moved into its inaugural meeting where it proposed 31st of March to April 2nd 2016 for a 3-day ceremony with the grand event cum Nigeria Sports Hall of Fame expected to hold at Transcorp Hilton hotel in Abuja.

9- Rep of Office of Nig. Pillar Of sports- Member

10- Rep of Capital Oil - Member

11- Rep of Owu Sports wear Ltd- Member
