As the Nigerian National League 2012/13 season gradually comes to an end, C.O.D United midfielder, Bature Yaro is calling on his teammates to finish off the season in grand style. One that will see the team gain promotion.
Bature who's blossomed more in the
second stanza of the season firmly believes all those who think promotion is unrealistic for this season would be in for a shock.
"I know it's a bit tough as we have 8 other teams above us on the log but if you look at the points difference between Abia Warriors who are topping the table going into this weekend games and us, it's 7 points. We can still turn our dreams into a reality. We want to have a fantastic end to the season as we've put so much into it. Everyone at the club has and am optimistic it will happen," he said.
On what needs to be done to change the fortunes of the white lions on the road, Bature, who got the match winner via a sweetly struck free kick in the midweek Federation Cup round of 64 against FC Lokoja says it's all down to focus.
"In life, focus is very important as it helps you in achieving your wants and needs. We have tried in our away games but for one reason or the other, we've not had anything to show for it but that needs to change if we are to promote and with the required focus, we will do it. Our concentration levels need to be up for the whole of the 90 minutes because with the quality of my team mates we deserve to be placed better," he concluded.
