Flying Eagles on Saturday defeated Unterhaching 3-0 in a final World Cup warm-up game in Grassau, Germany.

The Nigeria U20s dominated the match and created more chances against the
    German third division side.

But it was in the second half that they made their superiority really count following the introduction of Olanrewaju Kayode, who injected the pace and urgency to the attack.

The World Cup-bound Eagles opened scoring in the 55th minute, when Kayode made up for a glaring miss a moment earlier to set up Umar Aminu from the left flank. It was the same fashion and players the Flying Eagles doubled the lead three minutes later.

Nigeria increased the tally seven minutes from time when substitute Daddy Moses fired home deep inside the box. The Flying Eagles would have posted a more convincing win but for some wasteful finishing late on.

The first half was scoreless as Unterhaching, who are a week into their pre-season training ahead of the new season, held out and would even have registered the first goal but for the alertness of goalkeeper Samuel Okani.

Aminu fired a shot directly at the Unterhaching goalkeeper after 17 minutes.

Skipper Abduljaleel Ajagun ought to have scored when he found himself inside the opponents’ goal area after 36 minutes but he chose to pass the ball.

And a minute later, Alhaji Gero was denied after a point-blank save by the goalkeeper.
