Nigeria’s Flying Eagles will leave Germany on Monday morning for the U20 World Cup in Turkey.

The Nigeria U20s, who have been putting finishing touches to their preparations for the World Cup, will depart their Postwirt Hotel in Ebbs/Tirol in Austria by 7am local time, which is 6amNigerian time, by bus to Munich, Germany.

Their Lufthansa flight from Munich to Istanbul, Turkey, is slated for 11am and it is a four-hour flight.

The team of 21 players and 10 officials will then connect a domestic flight from Istanbul to Kayseri, which is estimated to be for 45 minutes.

They have been booked into the four-star Hilton Hotel in Kayseri.

The team trained in Germany and Austria and also featured at the Toulon International Tournament in France in preparation for the World Cup.

The Flying Eagles, who defeated German third division side Unterhaching 3-0 in a final test game on Saturday, will open their 2013 World Cup campaign on Friday, June 21 against Portugal.

Three days later they face debutants Cuba also in Kayseri, before they play their final group game on June 27 against South Korea in Istanbul.

World football governing body FIFA have assured all teams at the U20 World Cup of their safety despite the on-going anti-government protests in Turkey.

Two years ago, the Flying Eagles reached the quarterfinals of the World Cup in Colombia.
