Nigeria U20 coach John Obuh has said he expects Cuba to come out with more force against his team than they did against Korea on Friday.
Obuh said he is too experienced to read too much into the Cubans’ opening day 2-1 loss to Korea after they took a first-half lead.
“I believe Cuba will come out stronger than they did against Korea. We have some information about them from
their first game, but we are not going to think that will be what they will play against us,” said Obuh, who dispatched an assistant coach to spy on Cuba on Friday.
“Usually you do not see the best of a team in their first game and I want to believe that is also the case with Cuba here.”
The Flying Eagles spent Sunday night studying the tape of the match between Cuba and Korea.
Skipper Abduljaleel Ajagun, who has become a main talking point here in Kayseri after his brace against Portugal, said he does not expect an easy game against the debutants from CONCACAF.
“We lost our first game and Cuba also lost their first game, we therefore do not expect this to be an easy game, but all the same we hope to win,” he said.
Nigeria will wear all-white kits and Cuba will sport all-red for this Group B match.
The match officials are from Hungary.
Kick-off is 4pm Nigerian time, 6pm in Turkey.
