The Nigerian,Victor Moses saw just 18 minutes of action and was substituted after he suffered a recurrence of the tight thigh he injured in Monday’s win over Newcastle.

The Chelsea loanee made an impact within
that short period he spent in the game against Sunderland having created an opportunity for Charlie Adam to score.

The Potters manager, Mark Hughes stated after the match that Stoke City lacked purpose and drive without Victor Moses who has been invited by Nigeria for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sudan.

“We lacked his drive and the purpose that he’s given us in recent games and although him going off disrupted us, it’s not an excuse as we should have been able to compensate for that.” said Hughes

With the details of Victor Moses injury not ascertained, it looks likely that he might not be involved in the AFCON qualifier against Sudan. The Super Eagles have been boxed in a tough situation after the African champions picked just a point in available six.

The double header against Sudan is important for Nigeria to keep her hopes of defending the trophy they won in South Africa in 2013 (which Victor Moses was part of) if the Super Eagles can pick the available six points off the whipping boys in the group.
