Latest reports have it that the Africa Cup of a nations qualifier between Sudan and Nigeria scheduled to take place at the Al-Merriekh Stadium in Omdurmans has been moved to another venue.
Nigeria's Super Eagles who are currently
preparing for the all important match with the compliment of a full squad in Abuja will now have to play on an artificial turf.
Footyalert learned that the AFCON match scheduled for Al-Merriekh Stadium in Omdurman has been shifted to Sudanese capital Khartoum. Some of the Eagles stars who have always shown unwillingness to play on an artificial turf have no other option than to do their fatherland proud at the 30,000 capacity stadium in Khartoum which has an artificial turf.
As at Tuesday evening, 24 players trained in Abuja under the watchful eyes of Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi.
Nigeria are boxed in a corner courtesy of their poor start in the qualifiers, a loss at home to Congo Brazzaville and a barren draw in South Africa against Bafana Bafana ensured that the current Africa champions are left in the third place in Group A with just one point behind Congo who top the group with 6 points and second placed South Africa with 4 points.
Sudan on the other hand are yet to pick a point after the Falcons lost to South Africa at home and away to Congo.
For Nigeria to be at the 2015 AFCON in Morocco the Eagles must pick maximum points in their remaining four matches against Sudan (home and away), away to Congo and at home to South Africa.
