The aggressive campaign on social media promoting the NPFL is gradually yielding positive result as witnessed in the first round of matches played over the weekend.

The social media has really helped in building the image of our prestigious league, people now see improvement in the league, gone are the days of fans or players beating up referees as if one is watching shaolin soccer.
EFFECT OF SOCIAL MEDIA ON NPFL

The #NPFL# hashtag surprisingly trended as No1 on twitter for almost 5 hours in a time whereby Chelsea vs. Man City match is going on simultaneously. The viewing centre where I watched the FA cup clash between Chelsea and Man city was also showing Kano pillars vs. Rangers in Kano. Infact it took us away from the boredom of the FA cup, as the match was intriguing and kept us all on our sit till the end of the match.

Watching the stadium filled to the brim served as encouragement, and clicking on NPFL on my twitter account I saw encouraging report from various stadia around the globe; it’s a welcome development seeing teams winning away from home without any record of violence.

Kudos to some well meaning Nigerians  with twitter handles such as; @akinnzo, @supporttheNPFL ,@dejitinubu,  @colinnotudoh who have taken it upon themselves to propagate the NPFL gospel on social media, I see the glory of the later NPFL greater than the former.
