Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Lobi Stars FC of Makurdi, on Sunday evening beat Nigeria National League (NNL) campaigner, Remo Stars Football Club 1-0 to book a place in the semis of the ongoing Gold Cup Pre-season Tournament in Ijebu-Ode.
Dickson Idakwo flick header in the 43rd minute of the encounter gave the Makurdi based team the crucial victory over the Sky Blue Stars.
The victory makes it two wins in two Gold Cup matches for the Ortom Boys as they go top of the Group B table with 6 points thus cementing a place in the next round of the tourney.
Crown FC of Ogbomosho came from a goal down to beat newly promoted NNL side, City of David United FC of Lagos, 1-2.
Stephen Anyanwu 20 minutes well converted spot kick gave Festus Allen's men the lead.
The center referee awarded a penalty to Crown after 34th minute of play, with COD United goalkeeper, Emmanuel Anibar denied the Ajilete Valiants the equalizer with a brilliant save thus leaving Peter Ubakanma the spot kick taker in dismay.
Osho Fatai and his wards came out strong in the second half of the game, they piled more pressure on the Church Boys, their effort paid off when Peter Micheal and Adeyemi Adeyeye scored a goal each to give Crown FC their first victory in two Gold Cup games.
