CITY Of David United coach, Festus Allen has said that his team will give Crown FC it's best shot against Crown FC in today's (Sunday) make-or-bust game in the Gold Cup.
A delighted Allen told newsmen after his side recorded their first victory as they piped Imperial FC 1-0.
"The game could have gone either way, as both teams tried to get the better out of each other. Like I said, COD United is using the championship to build a team that will compete well in the upcoming Nigeria National League (NNL) season and also screen some of the players that we have invited.
"We won, but were are not there yet. Our next game against Crown FC will be a tough one as the Ogbomoso side are a old horse in the NNL. So we'll give it our best shot tomorrow."
The ex-Sharks tactician did also give his candid opinion on the organization of the Gold Cup tournament.
"The standard has been of quality looking at the moderate score lines that has been recorded and the skills exhibited by players from the participating teams."
"Not taking anything away from the other pre-season championship that has been held for teams, the Gold Cup pre-season championship organization has been above average."
"Kudos to the brains behind this tourney as they are also helping the growth of Nigerian football and the domestic league. Let me use this medium to appeal to cooperate bodies to come and be part of this championship. I mean if teams like Pillars, Lobi Stars and other can participate in this tourney, it will add value to their brands,' said Allen.
