Ibadan fans will still enjoy Premier League football at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex Ibadan but they will have to make do by cheering their city rivals Crown FC of Ogbomoso as they take on Heartland FC of Owerri in a week two NPL fixture today. The darlin team of Ibadan fans, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) now feature in the Nigeria National League after drowning in the NPL relegation water last season.
The Ajilete Boys will have to
give more in today's match being their first home game this season but the fans will expect a revenge after Heartland punished the Oluyole Warriors "3SC" last season with 0-2 victory at the same venue.
Bode Daniel, captain of the Ajilete Boys acknowledge in chat with Footyalert that the match will be tough but he is optimistic that his team will pick the maximum point.
" I won't be in action today due to a swollen feet but I will be in the stand to cheer my team to victory. I trust my team mate to deliver," said Daniel
When Crown debut in the elite league in 2010/2011 season both teams won by a lone goal in their homes respectively but Heartland had the upper hand when both teams met at the quarter final stage of the 2012 Federation Cup. After qualifying from a tough group that includes El-Kanemi Warriors, Kwara United and Kano Pillars in the group stage of 2012 Federation Cup the Naze Millionaires sent Crown out of the competition.
Bode Daniel who lead his team in the Nigeria National League as they secured promotion to the NPL said the team arrived in Ibadan since Friday ahead of today's clash.
"We've been in Ibadan since Friday and we know we are in the right shape to get the necessary result. We've left the painful experience of that loss to Lobi Stars in Katsina behind us," Daniel concluded.
