Nasarawa United chairman, Isaac Danladi is still optimistic that the Solid Miners will meet their set target of securing a continental ticket this season.
In a chat with Footyalert, Danladi admitted that his team had a poor start this season but he stated clearly that he remains optimistic that the solid Miners will get their groove back.
"We didn't start well at all judging by the
two matches we've played this season. We lost away to FC Taraba and couldn't hold on to a lone goal lead at home forcing us to share points with Akwa United," he said calmly.
Nasarawa United have a date with Bayelsa United in a week three fixture against in form Bayelsa United who are yet to lose a game in the Nigeria Premier League and in the 2014 CAF Confederations Cup.
According to Isaac Danladi, he believes the technical crew has the experience to meet the club's target.
"I believe in the abilities of the technical," said Danladi. We've got Baba Ganaru who won the league back to back with Kano Pillars, Alloy Agu, our goal keeper trainer has played at the highest level and the assistant coach Kabiru Dogo set some records with ABS FC of Ilorin,Danladi concluded.
The Solid Miners will be guest to Bayelsa United in a week three NPL fixture on the 26th of March 2014.
