The feisty encounter between Agege Giants and Apapa Golden Stars was the star match of the Premier League week 16 round of matches. The keenly contested encounter saw Agege’s coach sent off while the fans were a ticking bomb as emotions soared and tempers flared.

Apapa ahead for the first time in the 34th minute with a sublime effort. Agege giants had to wait till ten minutes into the second half to equalize through Ajibade Matthew. With the game level both teams struggled to create chances and Apapa was particularly unlucky not to score the winning goal. Ajibade broke Apapa’s hearts two minutes into extra time securing his brace and granting Agege a morale boosting victory.
This loss sees Apapa relinquish their top spot to Ojo FC who trampled Kosofe 3-0 at LASU pitch on Saturday.
In other encounters Ifako Ijaiye white washed Apapa Iganmu 12-0 at Agege Stadium on Sunday while Surulere Sport City Fc kept their hope of a the title alive with a 1-0 victory over Itire Ikate.
