Before now it was Plateau united, JUTH FC and Mighty Jets that brought top flight football to Jos but now a new club who debut in the Nigeria National League (NNL) last season (2011/2012) and made an instant impact in the league might bring top flight football to that region .

The club owned by Ambassador Chris Giwa and established to promote unity among the people of Plateau state seem to be achieving that already.

Giwa FC lost a chance to
gain promotion last season no thanks to Nasarawa united who are already doing fine in NPFL. The Jos team lost the promotion ticket to Nasarawa United in the last day of the season. So far this season they sit on top of group A in the NNL with 46 points with four matches to go.

Promotion is within reach and I know we shall storm the Nigeria Professional Football League next season, we are a surprise package,'said Abdul Biffo.

Abdul Biffo the coach of Giwa FC managed the the club last season but left at some point only to be recalled when Giwa FC were not getting needed result. He got an SOS from the club at his base Minna when Giwa FC drew at home to Zamfara united and since he took over they've been a regular at the top.

" It was a hug experience for the entire team said Biffo, for a new team with no proper structure before and yet got to the level of missing the promotion on the last day of the league"

He continued, It was a massive achievement on the part of the team and when I return back it was very easy for me to continue from were i stopped last season because I recruited all the players. The only inclusion I made is to re call some of my players back

With just 4matches to go, Giwa FC needs just 6points to seal a promotion ticket and will definitely increase the number of private owned clubs in the NPFL that is if Nembe City and ABS remain in the league.

Props up to private owned clubs. They are trying. You see, any where a product of Kwara united goes to they do distinguish themself. Up Kwara!
