  • Decisions Of NFF's Disciplinary Committe On Matters Involving NNL Teams

    Below are the decisions reached by the displinary committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF)  on matters involving teams in the second level football league in Nigeria;  The Nigeria National League (NNL).
    Decisions Of NFF's Disciplinary Committe On Matters Involving NNL Teams


    The Committee considered that the attitude of Mr. Julius Atete as being inciting and frowns at such acts by team Officials. The Committee therefore considers his conduct as bringing the match to disrepute as a result of which led to the abandoning of the match by his team.

    He is hereby placed on two (2) match bans with effect from their next match. The Committee in arriving at this decision invoked Art. 7.(21)

    2. The Committee finds J. Atete FC Guilty of Abandoning the match and noted that Team Officials have no right to abandon a match for whatever reason ”If a club refuses to continue with a game for a period of up to five (5) minutes in a match or till the expiration of full time of any half of the game or walksoff the pitch, it shall forfeit the match to its opponent by 3 points 3 goals or the score at the time of abandonment whichever is higher”.4.2(5) The club shall in addition pay a fine of N500,000.00 to League within Fourteen (14) days.



    3. The Committee also noted the inability of Crown FC Officials to control the Conduct of their Supporters thus leading to the Vandalization of the J. Atete Team Bus hence the committee Directs that Crown FC be fined the Sum of One Million Naira (N1000,000) in line with Art.4.3(5) and 4.3(6) 7.0(2) Clubs shall be held responsible for the behaviour of their supporters/fans before, during, and after any match.

    4. The Committee also directs the NNL to ensure that the next Two (2) Home Matches of Crown FC should be played under closed door.

    2 IN THE MATTER INVOLVING PRIME FC Vs. REMO STARS FC FINDINGS

    1. The Committee finds the Supporters of Prime FC Guilty of gross misconduct and hereby place a one Year Ban on the Supporters of Prime FC in line with Art. 6.0(2)

    2. The Committee hereby place a ban on Player Olabisi Olagunju of Prime FC for a period of Three (3) Matches for harassing a Referee in line with. Art. 7.(21)

    3. The Committee hereby place a fine of One Million Naira (N1,000,000.00) on Prime FC for their inability to control the behaviour of their spectators in line Art.6.01 and Art.7.(02)

    4. That Prime FC is hereby banished to play the remaining of their league home matches at Ilorin Kwara State in line with Art. 6.01 5. The Committee directs that the NNL should quantify the cost of items lost by the officials i.e 3 stopwatches, 2 flags, 1 yellow card and communicate a refund of the cost to the management of Prime FC and collect same which the NNL shall hand over to the match officials concern


    3 IN THE MATTER INVOLVING MIGHTY JETS FC Vs. KADUNA UTD FC FINDINGS 1.

    The Committee noted that both teams were duly invited to appear before it and frowns at the attitude of both teams not to have honoured the invitation of the Committee.

    2. The Committee hereby adopts the interim decisions taken by the NNL and noted that the act of refusal to continue play contravenes Article 4.2(4). Consequently, Kaduna Utd FC shall forfeit the match to its opponent Mighty Jets FC by 3 points 3 goals

    3. The kaduna Utd FC shall in addition pay a fine of Five Hundred Thousand Naira (N500,000.00) only to the league within 14 days in accordance with Art. 4.2(5) of the rules and regulations of the League

    4. The Committee also spoke to Mr. Jide Bodunde Team Manager of kaduna Utd FC via telephone number 08057912850 and also Mr. Auwalu Yunusa Mighty Jets FC via telephone number 08035578633

    4 IN THE MATTER INVOLVING GOMBE UTD FC Vs. FC Taraba FINDINGS

    1. The Committee noted that FC Taraba was duly invited and just as they didn’t honour the match they also didn’t honour the Committee’s invitation which is regrettable

    2. The Committee upholds the Interim Decision of the NNL and hereby fine FC Taraba the Sum of One Million Naira (N1,000,000) only in line with Art. 4.2(1)

     3. The Committee hereby awards 3 points 3 goals in line with Art. 4.2(2) to Gombe Utd FC 4. The Committee upholds the Interim Decision of the NNL and hereby fines Taraba FC the sum of One Million Naira (N1,000,000) only in line with Art. 4.2 (1)

    5 IN THE MATTER INVOLVING DELTA FORCE FC Vs. REMO STARS FC FINDINGS 1.

    The Committee refers to the NFF Integrity Officer for further Investigations the matter concerning the Mr. Chidi Okonkwo (GM of Delta Force FC) and that of Mr. Chike Eriobuna (Centre Referee) from Edo State Referees Council as it relates to the recovered Sum of One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000) only by the Police from Mr. Chike Eriobuna (Centre Referee) of Edo State Referees Council.

    2. The Committee also directs that the Referees Appointment Committee should ensure that no further appointment is given to Mr. Chike Eriobuna of Edo State Referees Council pending the outcome of the Investigations and subsequent Decision of the NFF Disciplinary Committee.

    3. The Committee hereby place a fine of One Million Naira (N1,000,000) only on Delta Force FC for their inability to control the behaviour of their spectators in line Art.6.01 and Art.7.(02)

    4. The Committee hereby orders that Delta Force FC be banished to play their last home match in Lokoja under close door in line with Art. 6.01

    5. The Committee after considering the match officials report hereby place a one year ban respectively on Mr. Oghale Company a player of Delta Force FC and Mr. Chidi Okonkwo the GM of Delta Force FC for Assaulting the Centre Referee in line with Art. 6.0(2)

    6 IN THE MATTER INVOLVING SOKOTO UTD FC Vs. KATSINA UTD FC FINDINGS

    1. The Committee Upholds the outcome of the match which is Sokoto Utd FC 1 and Katsina Utd FC 0

     2. The Committee hereby place a close Door Ban of One Home Match on Sokoto Utd FC after taking into cognisance their admission of the charge and their appeal for leniency.

    3. The Committee also upholds the Interim Decision of NNL and as such fines Sokoto Utd FC the Sum of One Million Naira (N1,000,000) Only for encroachment by their fans to the field of play in line with Art.

     4.3(1) 7 IN THE MATTER INVOLVING MALUMFAHSI VS HALFA FINDINGS

    1. The Committee notes that Malumfashi FC is found guilty of non -compliance to the approval of the NNWLO that the match be played under closed doors as requested by Malumfashi FC and approved by the League Secretariat

    2. That Malumfashi FC is found Guilty of encroachment after the goal was scored during the first half of the match and are hereby fined the Sum of One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000) Only in line with Art. 4.13(5)

    3. That Halfa FC is found guilty of refusing to continue the match without recourse to the approval by the Officiating Officials and are hereby fined the Sum of One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000) Only. The committee in arriving at this decision invoked Art. 10.01 (1)

    4. The Committee hereby banish Malumfashi FC away from his home ground and directs the Secretariat of the NNWLO to identify a neutral venue of equal distance to both teams for a continuation of the match from the commencement of the second half under closed door.

    5. The Committee also directs that the same set of officials should be the one’s to officiate the continuation of the match from the resumption of the second half. OMOUJINE, Esq (Member), Adanmu Sani Osmond (Member), and Christian Ifeanyichukwu EMERUWA, Ph.D,(Member/Secretary).
