    This is an edifice every Akwa Ibom indigene is proud of, the stadium which sits on 48 hectares of land and was opened on the 7th of November, 2014.

    The stadium serves as the home ground of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL)  side, Akwa United FC.

    The stadium has a capacity of 30,000 and was modeled after Allianz Arena. It was officially opened by the former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, after which a football match between Nigeria and Ghana was played.



    The outer covering of the $96 million stadium encircles the whole spectator stand and adds to the beauty. Goodswill Akpabio Stadium can host either soccer or track and field events.

    The facility boasts of a bulletproof VIP stand, and top notch media facilities. The experience of the two scoreboards gives you a unique experience compared to other stadiums in Nigeria. Goodswill Akpabio Stadium also has a standby power supply system, helipad, ambulance bay, and two dressing rooms.

    The Akwa Ibom Stadium has carefully planned concessions. For visitors at the stadium, getting quality food and beverage is very easy. There are kiosks and restaurants on the ground floor of the stadium complex that offer beverages, snacks, and food.
