Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club head coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu has taken full responsibility for his wards' 4-0 defeat to FC Ifeanyiubah in Matchday 2 fixture of the 2016/17 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) played in Nnewi on Wednesday, January 18.
The Lagos-based team gaffer who was obviously unhappy with how events unfolded in the encounter that saw two of his key players sustaining Injuries in the first half of the exchange, has accepted the blame for the loss as he focused on the next league match.
Ilechukwu said: " For yesterday's game, I have to take the blame because I introduced new players to the starting line-up who didn't start against Niger Tornadoes and that was the problem.
"I did that because of the marathon nature of the league, so I decided to start new five players so that I can rest some players for the next game but at the end it turned that way.
"Secondly, in the first half, two of our players were injured and that forced me to change the game plan by bringing in two players and the changes really affected my tactics and game plan but at the end of the day excuses can't help the situation.
"So I take the blame for everything that has happened and the loss against FC Ifeanyiubah," he toldmountaintopfc.com.
MFM FC will host Lobi Stars in Matchday 3 of the NPFL coming up this Sunday, at the Soccer Temple, Agege Stadium in Lagos and the manager has said that his side have no option other than winning.
"We can't expect anything less than winning because we can't lose 4-0 and come to our home and draw or lose.
"The thing here is that we have put the loss behind us and concentrate on the next match which I believe by God's grace winning is 100 per cent sure," the Nnewi born tactician stated.
