  • Supreme Court FC kick-start screening

    With new football season yet to kick-off at the second and third tier of Nigeria soccer leagues, one of the club sides, Supreme Court Football Club of Abuja have began pre-season proceedings with screening of Players inside Old Parade Ground located within the Nation’s capital.

    The screening exercise which has already begun will last throughout the week as the team owned by the country’s Apex Court seeks to rejuvenate for greater challenges ahead after an unimposing outing last term.


    Making this known on Tuesday, General Manager Tolulope Oguntimehin who personally witnessed players trooping into the team’s playground to show their worth affirmed that the door is still wide open for would-be youngsters that would want to ply their trade as Apex Boys.

    Oguntimehin equally disclosed that the club has been set on the pathway for better exploits in times to come with an instant quest to make positive impact when this year’s Federation Cup contest takes off with an eye on instant National league comeback.

    According to him; “We have started in earnest to prepare for the new season after some setback last year due to circumstances that reared up their heads. We are throwing our screening open for players to come showcase their talents.

    “This time around, we want to get the best. That is why we have decided to make it an open session in the next couple of days. Thereafter, the technical crew will select quality players that will form part of our formidable squad, moving forward.

    At various times, the Abuja-based side which would feature at highly competitive Nigeria Nation-wide league when 2016/2017 season gets underway in March have come close to representing the Federal Capital Territory at the National Challenge Cup but lost out at the nick of time.
