The Emergency Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation has upheld the recommendation of the investigative committee into bribery allegation against a member of the Committee, Barrister Olaleye
Adepoju, placing a 10-year ban from all football-related activities on the former chairman of NFF Disciplinary Committee.

Following a meeting of the investigative
committee headed by Barrister Chris Green at the NFF Secretariat in Abuja on Monday, the Emergency
Committee was convened to look into its recommendations with a view to treating the matter with dispatch.

Apart from Barrister Adepoju, the former Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Oyo State, Mr. Dapo Lam-Adesina, also bagged a 10-year ban.

It was the unanimous position of the Emergency Committee that the case against Barrister Adepoju was proved beyond reasonable doubt.

In a related development, the Emergency Committee also upheld the recommendation of the investigative committee into an allegation of impersonation against the Chairman of Enugu State Football Association, Mr. Chidi Ofo Okenwa, to the effect that Okenwa, indeed, has a case to answer.

The Committee has referred the case to the Inspector General of Police for full police investigation. In the meantime, Mr. Ofo Okenwa is to step aside as Chairman of Enugu State Football Association pending the conclusion of police investigation.

Present at the meeting were NFF President, Alhaji Aminu Maigari, Vice President, Chief Mike Umeh and other Members, Chief Emeka Inyama, Alhaji Muazu Suleyman, Alhaji Yusuf Ahmed Fresh and Alhaji Ahmad Muazu Kawu.

Hmmmmm...see the roll call:Aminu Maigari, Mike Umeh, Emeka Inyama, Muazu Suleyman, Alhaji Yussuf Ahmed, Alhaji Ahmad Muazu Kawu..all anti-shooting stars and south-west football development. They never really forgave 3SC for Rangers technical ouster from the 2013 CAF Cup for fielding an ineligilble player against their Tunisian counterparts.Rangers and some of their top-flight counterparts have been indulging in this players theft/hijack for ages with the active connivance of their NFF conspirators.Rangers brazenly did it against Warri Wolves in the protracted case of Sunday Mba, and audaciously repeated same against 3SC.Where then did 3SC erred in this unwholesome act of Rangers? The Ndigbo caucus in the NFF, and their equally-guilty Arewa henchmen never reallyforgave 3SC and made good their threat to send the team to the lower division, and invariably suffocate club football development on the South-western terrain of Nigeria. The ugly consequences of their ignoble acts is evident: continous colossal and scandalous defeats and ousters of the Nation's representatives on the continental scene over the years.Inspite of the Super Eagles exploits which is mainly as a result of inputs of our players based abroad, the recent Golden Eaglets triumph on the World scene, which can be attributed to purely private initiatives of the myriad of private soccer academies in the country, same cannot be said of the NFF-organised NPL, which has continually churned out mediocre reps that are not forces to be reckoned with on the African scene(since Orji Uzor Kalu-inspired Eyimba's conquests, Nigerian clubsides remain confined to No-man's land on the African scene). The pitiable state of our local soccer scene is further underscored by the lamentable struggles of our home-based Eagles(100%-managed by our 'glassed NFF men'in the Glass House) to qualify for CHAN for four years until recently when God used Coach Stephen Keshi's revolution to break the jinx. It's just unfortunate that Barrister Adepoju didn't know he was swimming in murky waters with ravenous sharks, and he fell headlong for their dirty ploys. We've had glaring cases of club and state FA chairmen who brazenly assaulted referees and mathch officials, and they were left off the hook with only a slap on the wrists.NFF..be alive ot your responsibilities, and stop messing up our Soccer.
