Manchester City are ready to sign Nigerian starlet Kelechi Iheanacho - voted the best player at the Under-17s World Cup.
The young striker, who scored in the final as his homeland won the competition in the UAE this summer, is poised to pick the Blues ahead of Portuguese giants Porto.
City plan to do a deal and then put Iheanacho - also linked with Manchester United and Arsenal - into their new academy in Ghana and wait until he wins enough caps to qualify for a work permit.
Iheanacho's father, James, revealed: "We prayed and, after talks with family members, we came up with Manchester City, believing he has a future there."
