No fewer than 16 teams within and outside of Lagos state are ready to battle for a cash prize of a hundred and fifty thousand naira in a six-day football championship organized by the Managing Director of Evergreen Groups Limited, chief Iyke Madu Obi, Mayedero of igando.
The tournament, which will take place on April 8th to 13th 2017 is aimed at discovering budding talents that abound in that environment, and will also serve as a corporate social responsibility of the above mentioned organization to their immediate community.
“We are organizing this tournament to give the youths a platform to showcase their God-given talents and get a chance to be discovered, while we also use the advantage to give back to the society where we are operating from to ensure that we continue to flourish together ," chief Iyk Madu Obi told Footyalert
The grassroot tournament is one of the numerous ways chief Iyke has been empowering the lives of youths in his community, and it is expected to birth new stars that may go all the way to represent Nigeria in Africa and the world in the nearest future.
The championship will be coordinated by Prince Gbadamosi Adebola Sulaimom a.k.a Prince Gas, who is a sport director and an entrepreneur.
