Angel Wilfred Ammeh has urged Niger Tornadoes to learn from mistakes of their 2-1 defeat to Shooting Stars when they take on Kano Pillars in their next Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL game in Lokoja.
Tornadoes conceded a late goal from substitute Emmanuel Assiri's tap in effort in the 85th minute after Ammeh had cancelled out Sunday Faleye's first half strike in the 79th minute.
That defeat according to Ammeh was a bitter pill to swallow given the character Tornadoes displayed to rally back late into the game and almost earn a point.
Despite maintaining a top four status with the loss, Ammeh noted that the positives picked from Shooting's game must be built on while the mistakes must be corrected ahead of the last game in the first stanza of the NPFL against Pillars.
"There was a dip that I did not expect immediately we got an equalizer, we went down mentally and thought we've got the job done, that gave Shooting to come back at us, and it's painful my goal couldn't get us a point,” Ammeh told Footyalert
"The important thing is to figure out where we have gone wrong and ensure that does not happen again.”
"We have gone over the game against 3SC to prevent it from happening again. With the way we came back to the game and get an equalizer, we have actually shown that we are a team and that we have it in us. We let that get away, but we have to produce it again.”
"Our duty is to win the next game on Wednesday (against Kano Pillars) We need to end the first round on a high ground which will give us confidence to go for the break and comeback stronger, this is a vital game for us, for the fans and for the club.”
Niger Tornadoes were to host Kano Pillars in the Matchday 19 of the NPFL on Sunday in Lokoja but the LMC had shifted the fixtures to Wednesday to allow Christian faithfuls celebrate the Easter festivities.
