Nigerian champions, Enugu Rangers may remain in the 20th position on the league table after match day 17 of the Nigeria Professional Football League as Enyimba’s midfielder, Dare Ojo has stated that the Elephants of Aba will secure a win on Sunday in the Oriental derby.
The Flying Antelopes picked up a point away at Enyimba in 2015 and 2016 but Ojo believes that a win for Enyimba is the target on Sunday.
Rangers have won twice in their last five matches in all competitions but they have scored four goals yet concede eight goals while Enyimba have won three matches in their last five games.
“We know that it's an Oriental derby where form isn't considered but we are prepared and ready for Enugu Rangers on Sunday,” Ojo told Footyalert
“Both teams are under pressure because every home team knows too well that you can't afford to drop points in your home ground so that's a level of pressure on its own. The visiting team may not be in such pressure but against Rangers that has been struggling lately, the pressure on them will be huge.”
“They will want to come all out for a possible point which I strongly doubt. They recruited a lot of players at the start of the season but unfortunately they couldn't make it to the group stage of the Caf Champions League and they aren't in a good position on the NPFL table too.”
“I know that they will want to throw everything at us but I want to assure Enyimba fans that we won’t allow that to happen. A win is the only thing on our mind.”
