The Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan hosted the second semi-final of the
2016 Federation cup match between Enyimba Int'l FC and Nasarawa
United. With both teams finishing the 2015/2016 NPFL season in dismal
positions respectively on the log, the Federation Cup second semi final match offered both teams the opportunity to go on and fight for a silverware as well as a Caf Confederation Cup ticket.

The Solid Miners proved they wanted it more, beating The People's Elephant by a Seun Sogbeso 30th minute penalty after the Enyimba goalkeeper, Theophilus Afelokhai fouled Abdulrahman Bashir in the box.

Nasarawa United got the game underway and looked hungrier for a place in the final from the onset. They forced a corner as early as the 2nd
minute and kept pressure on the Aba side who couldn't find their feet
    in the early proceedings.

Enyimba's first attempt on goal fell to
Osadiaye in the 17th minute, but his tame shot fell nicely for Buraj to gather in the Nasarawa goal. The next action and most notable as it turned out had Afelokhai foul Abdulrahman on the 29th
minute in what was a goal bound move, leaving the referee's hands pointed to the spot.

Seun Sogbeso stood up and drove the ball past Afelokhai into the net, celebrating what turned out to be the winner.

The Solid Miners should've been two up in the 44th minute but Taiwo
Fabiyi could not keep his composure against on-rushing Theophilus Afelokhai in a one on one situation.

Paul Aigbogun's men appeared more focused after the break but will
have their goalkeeper to thank for making top notch saves that kept
the scores respectable. The best chance of the half fell to Enyimba's
Chukwude in the 67th minute but his effort was denied by the upright
with Buraj beaten in goal. The Solid Miners did not just sit back and
defend their lead, they forced two good saves from Afelokhai in the
    75th and 78th minute respectively.

After Uche John was issued his matching orders in the 86th minute, it
was clearer Nasarawa United will go on to win the match, picking up the ticket to square up against FC Ifeanyi Ubah in the final.

Though the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) hasn't announced an official date for the final but there are strong indication that the Teslim Balogun Stadium,  Lagos will host the 2016 Federation Cup final on Sunday October 30,2016.
