Founded in 2007 by the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, a Pentecostal Christian Organisation; it took just eight years for MFM FC to ascend to the apex football in Nigeria.

Though the club will  reserve appreciations for Bolowatan FC, after they gifted their slot in the Nigeria National League to  MFM FC for free in 2012- from where the 'Olukoya Boys' sprang one level to the NPFL in 2015- the topflight of club football.

The Olukoya Boys kickstarted the first stanza of their debut NPFL season on a flying start, passing a stern test by beating against great odds of Nasarawa United 2-1 at their adopted home ground at the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi.

It was an unexpected dream start. MFM home ground, the Agege Stadium was a fortress in the first stanza of the season. They won 6 and drew 3, thereby dropping just 6 points at home. The vital away win against Nasarawa United coupled
with 3 draws away from home ensured they finished the first stanza with 27 points, landing on a comfortable 10th position on the log.

They did start the second half of the season strongly, doing the double against against the Solid Miners' with a  2-0 win. However, they lost steam as they couldn't hold their ground firmly in
the second and business stanza of the league. Their home turf ceased
to be fortress it was in the first; they managed just 5 wins and a draw, loosing 2 home matches.

On the road, they secured just 2 draws and lost the rest. In the process, they picked a mere 16 points from a possible 27 at home, a woeful 2 points on the road; finishing the stanza with just 18 points.

In a chat with club Chairman, Godwin Enakhena, he stated that despite
the surprising 2nd position - their highest standing on the log, after
the fourth week into the season; they never nursed an intention of winning the league in their first attempt.

"Our motive wasn't to win the league in the first season, it was and is still about providing a platform for our youths to showcase their God given talents. Every
other thing is a bonus." Enakhana told Footyalert.

After applauding the efforts of his players, the renowned sports
journalist continued: "There is no perfect team in the world, we had a solid team but lacked in-squad depth and had inexperienced players.

"The good thing is that this out gone season has afforded us an
opportunity to garner experience at the top level which will stand us in good sted next season. We will surely bring in a couple of experinced players to fortify the team." Enakhena concluded.

Before Leicester of England went on to win their maiden English topflight title against all odds, they survived relegation the last day of the penultimate season.

Having survived relegation with a hard
fought victory against high flying IfeanyiUbah FC on the last day of the
season, the Olukoya Boys still pocess with them feautures of undoing the odds come next season. But first, they must fortify their squad as stated by their Chairman.
