Niger Tornadoes gaffer, Abubakar Bala has offered antidotes to set backs noticed from last season.
The Minna outfit only gained promotion back to the elite league in 2015 after staying in the lower league for three years and did enough in 2016 to keep their Premier League status intact but coach, Abubakar Bala has noted that the Ikon Allah had a poor preparation to the 2015/16 NPFL season.
"Our performance last season was a good one but i want to emphasise that the recruitment process wasn't that bad but we had a very poor preparation. Though most of the players we recruited just didn't meet the required expectations through the season and that's a mistake we shall curb next season and we have started the process," Bala told Footyalert
Since the 5000 capacity Bako Kontagora Stadium didn't meet the NPFL standard, Niger Tornadoes were compelled to adopt the Confluence stadium lokoja and according to Abubakar Bala, Lokoja may be considered as a preseason ground.
"We retained 19 players, 13 were dropped and we shall recruit 11 players.
"At this moment i am yet to develop my programme but i should be through by weekend and i am considering either Lokoja or Kaduna as the preseason venue for Niger Tornadoes subject to the management approval.
Niger Tornadoes finished 11th in the NPFL 2015/16 season with 49 points from 36 matches
