The Gombe State Honourable Commisioner for Youth and Empowerment, and pioneer Executive Gombe State Sport Commission Malam Farouk Yarma has commended the state Governor for appointing him and five others as Pioneer Members of Gombe utd Advisory Board.
Malam Farouk Yarma said "I would like to most sincerely and respectfully thank His Excellency, Dr Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, OON (Talban Gombe) for appointing us as pioneers Gombe United FC Advisory board."
The calibre of highly competent personalities that constituted the committee says a lot about His Excellency's intention for the club, Yarma disdclosed.
The Proprietor of Yarmalight Football Club also expressed his confidence In Chairman of the Advisory Committee Ambassador Haruna Garba (Magayakin Gombe), who helped to establish Gombe United, and believed there won't be a better choice for this role than him.
Also appointed is Alhaji Inuwa Lamido (Iyan Gombe) his household name in the football family), who has huge reservoir of knowledge.
The honourable Commissioner said he his happy to be part and parcel of this great personalities.
He also said, "I would like to submit that we are aware Gombe United Football Club have an edict, a law, that established the club. This law gives the supreme power of managing the club to the Management Board. As an Advisory Committee our role will be solely to advise the Management Board, we will not in anyway interfere with their deliberations, but whenever and wherever we notice a loophole we will be advising them on how to put things right"
The overall benefit of constituting our committee will be realised when the club succeed.
In the same token we are not going to interfere with activities of the technical crew. For the team to succeed the technical crew must be given a free hand to select the best players that will win laurels to the club. By bringing in Coach Manu Garba, OON as the new Technical Adviser, the Management Board need to be commended. The club need a tested hand like him at the helm of affairs in order to compete in the highly competitive NPFL. With an established technical crew, an assurance of continuous support from the government and the right choice of players, we are good to go.
