Niger Tornadoes' attacking winger Wilfred Ammeh is considering leaving the club in the ongoing transfer window of the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL after guiding the club to a surprising top four status.

Ammeh scored once for the Ikon Allah Boys as he found a first team opportunity hard to come by under Coach Abubakar Bala led side.

In this exclusive interview with Footyalert, the former TEAP FC and Kogi United player expressed delight with development in the Nigeria Professional Football League  under the League Management Company (LMC) just as he advised the league body to work on players' welfare to develop the league.

    Read on:

Footyalert: What's your assessment of your team as you finished the first round of NPFL?

Ammeh: We are happy the first round is over now, we are fourth on the log now, it's good for us , it's a massive achievement for us because last season we were a bit struggling, now we have to build on this and pick points as many as possible as we can both hime and away, I think we have meet up with our coaches' target for first round which is to finish, now we need to be ready mentally and physically as pressure will be on us as you know many clubs we are to face now will attack us with our status as top four club.

Footyalert: Would you say Tornadoes is now a balanced team looking at how Team was last season and what you have achieve now, and what area would you advise the club to work on ahead of resumption?

Ammeh: For me, I wouldn't say because we have so many talented players, many that I'm yet to see them break into the team, I've been seeing many of them in training, expectedly you know that a club like Tornadoes with our position now we will want to beef up with few injections to help us, but I think we've shown in the first round that we have depth in the team, good players are here, I will leave that area to beef to coaches.

Footyalert: What's your personal assessment so far and any plans to better your game?

Ammeh: Honestly the first round has not been good for me, It didn't go the way I planned it, I couldn't get many games to play, coming from bench on many occasions, it's not a situation that I really like. I love to play all games, but it's the game the coaches have the final say on who get to play. It's a moment of lesson for me, I've learnt to be patient and I was patient even when I didn't get to play games, but I'm still happy I was able to get a goal and few assist with opportunities I got I think I'm ok with my personal contribution to the team to reach this far, I've had couple of clubs talking to me, top clubs but I've not taking any decision yet, I will go home, spend some times with my family relax my brain and think about the next step then try to talk to my coach and see how it goes.

Footyalert: What are you telling the league organizers, LMC to work on ahead of league resumption?

Ammeh: Honestly the league has witnessed massive improvements in all areas, it's been so good not like previous season when you go away and just know you will lose, but now the league is really open. But I would like the LMC to assist more in terms of players' welfare, they need to do more on that. You see sometimes a team will travel a whole day for a league match, and your club will still want to perform to a certain standard, I will advise the LMC to look at how they can get clubs talk to airlines in moving clubs to long distance, if they can help talk to them and reduce the tickets I think it will help players to give their best and the league will also be more sweet , but overall for me the league it's growing fast, from the media, officiating, administration and all that.
