Nigeria international, Junior Ajayi has revealed that
his target is to win the Caf Champions League trophy with Egyptian giant, Al
Ahly.
The striker who won bronze with Nigeria's U23 team in the football event at
the 2016 summer Olympics has scored four goals in eight matches for the Red
Devils who currently lead the Egyptian Premier League table with 52 points, seven
points ahead of second placed Maqassa and 12 points ahead of third placed
Zamalek.
"I hope to win the CAF Champions League title,
as all newly signed players also hope to lift the trophy, but it needs a great
effort," Ajayi said in interview with Ahly's official website
"I am working to win the Egyptian Premier
League top scorer title but I am also concentrating on the team's benefit to
win the games. I appreciate the Egyptian Premier League tournament; it's a
tough competition as we face well-organised teams during the domestic games.”
"I enjoy playing in the Egyptian Premier
League and I hope to continue with this performance as well as meeting Ahly's fans'
expectations. I think Ahly is working well to win the Egyptian Premier League
title this season, and we are leading the teams' table, but we have to wait
until the final whistle of the final game. I am doing my best with Ahly to
improve my performance to be able to join Nigeria national team,” Ajayi stated
