The General Manger of Jigawa Golden Stars, Dodo Isa has revealed that his team ready for the 2016/17 Nigeria National League season scheduled to start this weekend.
The Hadejia base club will start their campaign this term away to Giwa FC who were thrown out of the apex league, Nigeria Professional Football League in 2016 and Dodo has noted that his team is ready and will travel to Jos to face Giwa FC or the tean the NNL board directs his team to play on 18th March 2017.
“We are ready for the new season; the team is focused and ready. We retained 24 players, recruited 10 and the preparation has been fantastic. We have only one mission this season and that’s to go back to the Nigeria Professional Football League,” Dodo told Footyalert
“We shall wait for the league board to know if there will be some changes to our week one fixture but if not we shall head to Jos to play against Giwa FC. Even if we are told that the fixture with Giwa FC has changed, we shall honour the fixture with the club we are directed to play against.”
“It will be a very tough season ahead but we are ready in all ramifications. I don’t see the abridge league where five teams will compete for a ticket as competitive as to what we have now. We are equal to the task and shall overcome the challenges that will come out way.” Dodo added
Dodo also revealed that the club’s merchandise will be available soon for fans.
“We have made proper arrangement as to get fans regardless of location to identify with Jigawa Golden Stars, that’s why we have partnered with some companies to sort out our club’s merchandise. Within a few weeks our replica jerseys will be available for our fans,” Dodo stated.
