Folsa Academy, Abuja, owned by former President of the Nigeria Foitball Federation, Sani Lulu, has entered into partnership with Fountain University, Oshogbo, towards solidifying the ability for students of Folsa to be admitted into the tertiary institution after meeting the academic standards.
Folsa Academy is a football college that runs academic programs, established in 2011 with the aims of developing youth football talents while also receiving comprehensive secondary school education.
This is a bold and novel initiative by FOLSA Academy, which provides an avenue for youths that are naturally endowed in football to have a congenial platform to develop their talents and mould students into leaders and legends in the game and will be unbounded in their desire to excel in other fields getting quality education.
Lulu, on a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Abdullateef Usman, stated Folsa Academy vision and mission as thus; “We want to strive for the empowerment of the youths through their knowledge and skills, and using the power of football for the development of intelligent and talented citizens of the country through the provision of well-developed academic and sports curriculum. Our cardinal objective is to propel the players to participate in football and education programs.
“We, at FOLSA Academy, are proud to be working and partnering with Fountain University. We are excited to be working with such a high-ranking higher education institution and we are honored to note their trust through the acceptance of our Academy graduates into their University,” said the most decorated former NFF President.
Buck of the players that won silver medal of the 2016 NNPC Shell Cup will be graduating from Folsa Academy as they are scheduled to write WAEC, NECO and JAMB by April/May/June with Fountain University their choice University having created a platform for the players.
On entourage with Lulu includes former Secretary General of Nigeria Football Federation, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi, Principal Folsa Academy, Mrs. Josephine Ebhodaghe, Alhaji Tajudeen Tiamiyu, Sule Abdul Ajapo, Osun FA Secretary, Amoo Abayomi Taofeek and Tunde Shamsudeen.
While responding, Professor Usman, who has with him the institution Registrar Alhaji Tairu Adeogun and Bursar Hajia Ali Balogun Silifat, said having discussed with the Board of Trustees of the noble institution the partnership will not suffer any setback going by the fact that the BOT are made up of sports lovers.
Professor Usman who commended the giant strides of Lulu, Ogunjobi and officials of Folsa Academy for planning the future of the players along with their education and stated further that invitation will be extended to them soon to sign the Memorandum of Understanding.
