The CEO of the Nigeria National League (NNL), Hon. Bukola Olopade has revealed the vision of the new board and the plans to re-brand the second tier league.
Hon. Olopade in a chat at the Agege stadium noted the opportunities in the NNL and how the new board intends to re-brand and make the property a big brand that will offer value to the fans and corporate Nigeria.
“The vision is a very simple and clear one. It’s simply to tie our aprons to what the League Management Company have been able to do with the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL). It’s a fact that the NNL is the most important league in Nigeria’s football league community because it’s the league that bridges the amateur division with the elite league,” Hon. Olopade told Footyalert
“If we don’t take it seriously then we will be failing all the young boys who are playing football all over the country who haven’t been exposed to TV, who haven’t been exposed to good quality sponsorship and good pitches and that’s what this NNL board wants to achieve.”
“Corporate Nigeria should come on board; this is a very significant property that is rightly spread across Nigeria. We have 32 teams playing in this league all over the country. It has presence in most states in Nigeria and no other property in football except for the national teams can be to the consumers. So if I was a corporate entity and I know what my targeted audience is, then there’s no way I won’t go for this property and leverage on the opportunities it offers.
“Especially when you have the Nigeria Television Authority on board and discussion with Startimes is at advance stage and that means three different Tv station, NTA and two others will serve live content from the NNL to Nigerians twice every week,” Hon. Olopade stated
