Defender Ariwachukwu Emmanuel has revealed he is satisfied with his performance in Akwa United's 1-0 win against El-Kenemi Warriors on Sunday in Uyo.
After he was compelled to the sideline due to a knee injury for three weeks back against Plateau United in Uyo, Ariwachukwu played the entire duration in the Promise Keepers' week 12 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match against the Desert Warriors.
'I am happy to be back, I started in our 1-0 win over El-Kanemi Warriors and I am really satisfied with my performance. The pain in my knee has left and I want to thank the medical team that helped me back on my feet again," Ariwachukwu told Footyalert
The 2015 Federation Cup champions, Akwa United created series of chances but failed to convert as many that came their way and the defender noted that the Uyo base team will work on that.
"Yes that's true, we ought to have won by more goals if we converted the chances we created. We shall improve on that but you must agree with me that Akwa United has improved and that will be a continuous thing.
" We worked as a team, kept El-Kanemi Warriors at their half worked them all through. They didn't even have a shot on target, I think that showed how we controlled the match. The win is the most important for us, which we got. Now we must continue to work hard as the league us about to enter that tough stage where teams will be tested in all ramification," Ariwachukwu added
8th place Akwa United with 16 points are six points behind league leader, Plateau United.
