    NNL: Remo Stars Responded Late

    A rigorous defensive play from Ekiti United, ruled with a couple of missed chances presented an highly tensed evening for the Sky Blue Stars as they had to leave it late in the dying seconds of the game to seal maximum points through the boots of Samson Paul from a 19 yard free-kick against Ekiti United.


    Remo Stars secured their first victory
    on on home soil today against Ekiti United who were highly disciplined in their defensive duties despite staying put in their half for most of the game.

    Ekiti United played according to their game plan holding on firm and breaking on the counter which did presented them with a couple of chance which ended up wide off the target and were looking forward to hold the sky blue stars to a stalemate.

    Luck ran out of Ekiti United in the dying moments of the game as Victor Mbaoma was fouled at the edge of the 18yrd box in the dying seconds of the 4 minutes additional time as Samson Paul stepped up to convert the free-kick to earn the sky blue stars their first maximum points after picking a point each on their first two games. Shola Adewuyi was confident in lads and indicated that the victory was
    off utmost importance.

    all 3points. It wasn't easy as the opponent ensured we had a difficult
    game."
