Prime Football Club Wednesday evening defeated First Bank Football Club of Lagos 1-0 in a determined effort to improve on the season, while keeping intact the home winning streak.
The Omoluabi Giants offense struggled to cope with the inspired defensive play of First Bank.
Prime showed no sign of slowing up in the race for promotion ticket by grabbing rountine home win.
Former Sunshine Stars attacker, Ibukun Ojo, got the consolatory goal in the 70th minute, in an effort from Ifeanyi Emmanuel.
Prime coach, Abimbola Samuel, said:
"We thank God for the victory, we don't expect to get a cheap points but, the most important thing is that we are able to rise up to win the match."
Speaking ahead of Saturday away tie against Abia Comets, he noted: "By the special grace of God, I believe we are going to get something on the road."
First Bank Coach, Luqman Osun, blamed his players for losing concentration which resulted to the goal his side conceded.
Prime now has 6 points from 3 matches and they are to play Abia Comets on Saturday in Umuahia.
