Young Boys Travel From Bauchi To Plateau Daily For Football

These boys speak Hausa so fluently but their English is poor, their interest for football is obvious in their commitment to learn from a coach who they nick named "Mourinho". It's not about distance but the desire to learn and see them achieve that big picture they see in their heart.

Adamu, Ishaq and Zubairu are just thirteen years old from Bauchi. Their coach in Bauchi sent them to Highlanders Football academy in Jos to learn from an ex footballer, Emmanuel Nyabam who recently signed a four year contract with the academy . Injury forced Emmanuel out of the game
while he was with Al Samad FC in Dubai.

The interesting thing is the commitment to learn. They say to anyone who cares to listen that they want to be super stars. The coach, Emmanuel Nyabam who looked so astonished in a chat with footyalert said "these boys have changed my mind set towards players from the North and middle belt".

Despite the religious crisis in Plateau State, these boys came into a predominantly Christian team and they've settled in so well at the Highland stars Academy Dadinkowa Jos.  They go to Jos thrice a week to learn from the coach they call 'Mourinho'  and leave for Bauchi after training while during holidays they spend more time in Jos.
