Okey Emordi Get Kano Pillars Job

2004 African coach of the year, Okey Emordi has joined current Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions, Kano Pillars.

The former coach of Rangers Int'l who led Enyimba FC of Aba to their second CAF Champions league triumph in 2004 is expected to resume work immediately.

Kano Pillars have filled the vacant sit left by former coach, Mohammed Baba Ganaru who guided the team to a back to back league triumph but chose to face a new challenge at Nasarawa United.

    In a statement by
the media officer of the club, Idris Malikawa, "Kano Pillars board have secured the services of Okey Emordi who is expected to resume immediately. He is expected to lead Pillars to a successful outing in the CAF champions league and in the domestic league"

Kano Pillars 2014 continental campaign will start on February 8th with an interesting away fixture in DR Congo against AS vita. Pillars who were knocked out in the second round of CAF champions league last season after starting on a high will hope the impact of Emordi will see them qualify for the group stage which they missed out in their last attempt.

Emordi's  former assistant while at Enyimba, Abdullahi Maikaba and Kabiru Baleria will assist him in his new challenge at Pillars.
