Nigeria Premier League Supporters Club Set To Birth

A few clubs in the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) do have an organized supporters club but it looks like the these fans are considering to take it to another level with the introduction of an organized supporters club for the NPL.

On Saturday, 11th of January 2014, representatives of some NPL clubs in a meeting held at Tourism camp, Bompai, Kano State agreed to give their support and cooperation to eradicate hooliganism at league match venues across the country. They also agreed to form an association that will be called "Nigeria Premier League Supporters Club".

COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF NPL SUPPORTERS CLUB'S MEETING HELD AT TOURISM CAMP, BOMPAI RD KANO, KANO STATE ON SATURDAY

1. The fans club during the meeting agreed to form an association call Nigeria Premier League Supporters Club.

2. Agreed to give their support and cooperation to eradicate hooliganism in match venues throughout the country.

3. The meeting call on the LMC to finance the next meeting and make it mandatory every season and back the npl supporters club financially.

4. It also solicit the support from all managers of the premier league club for the betterment of our club.

5. The meeting recommended disseminating the papers presented during the seminar conducted prior to the commencement of the meeting to their various supportes club.

6. The meetung commended kano state government under Gov. Rabi'u Musa kwankwaso for supporting and hosting the Seminar/meeting and making its successful been the first of its kind in history and urged other Governors to emulate him.

7. The meeting endorsed the care taker committee to run the affairs of the association for one year as follows;

a. Chairman- Bashir Idris Mu'azu - Kano Pillars FC

b. Vice Chairman- Prince Imaikop Sunday - Akwa United

c. Secretary - Remigus Mgata - Heartland FC

d. Assistant Secretary- Ya'u Muhammad Inuwa - Kaduna United

e. Treasurer - Emmanuel Oduyi - Sunshine Stars FC

f. Organizing Secretay - Mbatogu Achineke D. -Rangers FC

g. Pub. Secretary - Terry Obiet - Warri Wolves

h. Auditor -Salisu U. Galadima - Nassarawa united

i. Financial Sec. - Waziri Isa - El-Kanemi Warriors
