    Lagos Junior League Match Review

Week 12 of the LJL Premier League was one we will not forget in a hurry. Onigbongbo still sullen from their week 11 loss to Ojo Babes demolished Lagos Mainland 8-0 in a largely one sided affair. Mayowa Olorunfemi and Chiwendu Ogochukwu both banged in a hat-trick for their  team ensuring that Lagos Mainland continues its languishing stay at the bottom quarter of the table.

In the most anticipated match of the week, Ifako Ijaiye recorded their second loss in three matches then fell rather dramatically to Y.M.D Babes of Ojo.  After a rather level and
interesting first half Ifako Ijaiye went on to conceded four goals in the second half to end the game 5-1.

Agege Giants recorded their second defeat of the season when they were outdone by an early goal from Pelumi Rahaman. Eti Osa East held on is a manner reminiscent of EPL’s Chelsea FC and defended resolutely to secure a 1-0 victory.

Oyeniran Usman’s brace was on hand to help Lagos Island East secure a 3-0 victory over Itire Ikate at the Agege Stadium to the delight of Coach Hassan Taiwo.

In other matches Apapa Iganmu recorded their first victory of 2014 with a 4-1 win over Mushin, League leaders Surulere FC endured a torrid afternoon before overcoming a dogged Lagos Island East 2-1. Ajeromi Ifelodun and Oshodi could only manage a 1-1 draw at the Alade Stadium.
