The second half of the Lagos Junior League 2013/14 Season kicked off last weekend after a 3 weeks Christmas break. The second half kicked-off with mixed reactions the usual suspects Surulere Sport City Fc, Apapa Golden Stars, Agege Giants all secured crucial victories while kosofe FC and Ifako Ijaiye FKJ United slumped to disheartening losses.

Chiwandu Ugochukwu was on fire as his hat-trick for Onigbongbo was enough to sink second placed Ifako Ijaiye. Despite the score line pointing to a one sided encounter this was far from the truth. The first half of the match was deadlocked as both teams held their ground creating a tense yet lively atmosphere at the LASU sport centre. Just a minute after the restart the game sparked into life, Chiwandu found himself alone with the Ifako keeper with acres of space around him, with all the time in the world he slotted past the hapless keeper. Ifako Ijaiye launched a flurry of chances in search of an equalizer but were caught on the counter attack on the hour mark with Chiwandu once again slotting past a now resigned Chidi Obigwe. Ifako Ijaiye FC’s fate was sealed in the 81st minute with Chiwandu breaking Ifako hearts and completing his hat-trick.

The Premier league log remains relatively unchanged with Surulere leading the pack with six point separating them for second placed Ifako Ijaiye, Agege Giants, Ojo Y.M.D Babes, Apapa Golden Stars and Onigbongbo Ultimate strikers complete the top six.

if i consider what my friends who work at the local government area where i live are saying then it is safe to say the board of Lagos junior league are very lazy. for over three year now they have not been able to tie down series of sponsorship netier is any of their match aired live. they continue to aid the highest bidder o win the league. initially i thought the project will compete favourably with the NPL and co but even with a private initiative the Lagos junior league has failed to make thing happen. a bunch of lazy people i presume
