Holy Holy Holy Rangers - that is what is on the lips of every Rangers fan now, on October 2/2016 they will lift the NPFL trophy even though mathematically there is a chance they could still if they lose 4 nil to El Kanemi Warriors and Rivers United win their game( In my opinion it's not possible) .
After all the celebrations and fun fare what's next for Rangers?

The last time Rangers won the title was 32 years ago I wasn't even born then ( and please don't ask about my age) and only Okey Odita was a toddler and the rest of the team were not even born at that time.

Rangers deserve the NPFL title based on their form both home and away but it's the away form that is interesting because Rangers had the highest number of away points (15) and their style of football was eye catching and their attacking quartet CANE have been on fire since the season started and of course not forgetting the coach, Imama Amakapbabio who is the tactical genius in the dugout and credit should go to the Rangers board for sticking with him. He finished a disappointing 12th last season though he took charge on acting capacity but the decision to retain him has been a master stroke.

But amidst all the fanfare and celebration, Rangers should start preparing for next season by winning the league they qualify for the continent and will fly Nigeria's flag in the Caf Champions League.

CAF has increased the number of groups from 2 to 4 which means 16 teams will be in the group stage and for all of Rangers attacking display which is easy on the eye, they are suspect when it comes to defending as this problem can be exposed on the continent if the Rangers technical crew doesn't address this issue.

Okey Odita is not really Pacey  but will do well alongside a speedy centre back as he has the experience in CAF competitions by virtue of his time with Enyimba and again they also need a backup to Matthew etim who has been wonderful for them at right back even though they have Christian Madu. A good defence is needed because a strong defence is key to having a good continental run especially away from home (ask Sundowns if you are doubting me).

If there is one thing that Rangers should learn from outgoing champions Enyimba- it's difficult to stay on top after the season they just had  but for now it's celebration time for Rangers at the Cathedral with Holy Holy Holy Rangers.
