Captain of Heartland FC, Chinedu Efugh has tagged the Naze Millionaires' win over Niger Tornadoes as a morale booster.
When the club filed out against Niger Tornadoes in a NPFL rescheduled match on Wednesday, the skipper, Efugh led by example by nicking the first goal of the match with a well taken finish in the 40th minute. His goal enabled Heartland go on to seal a comfortable 2-0 victory with Ajoku's 70th minute strike completing what Chinedu termed a "Morale booster."
Speaking to Footyalert at the club's Owerri base after training on Friday morning, the defender said they are working extra hard to secure a victory in their next tie against Kano pillars on Sunday at the Dan Anyim Stadium, Owerri as they will put in their all to secure three points when they travel to Jos to play their last match of the season against Plateau Utd.
"The 2:0 victory against Niger Tornadoes, victory against Kano Pillars on Sunday and finally in Jos onnthe last will give us a miracle lifeline." Efugh told Footyalert.
"Miracles do happen, but for such to happen to Heartland FC this term - a team which has never been relegated from the Nigerian topflight. Three wins on the bounce for Heartland must give deaf ears and/or blind eyes to the 17 clubs sitting above us on the NPFL log and that must be strong enough to push us to atleast the 16th position. We wait to be greatly astonished," Efugh stated
