Supreme Court FC Team Manger, Cletus Nwaobi has refused to give up on the chances of his team retaining a spot in the Nigeria National League, NNL after a slim defeat in the hands of FC Zamfara in Gusau at the weekend.
A second half goal in the 63rdminute was all the home side needed to cruise over their visitors after Supreme Court defender Izu Omego confusedly allowed a rushing ball to surge into the net with goalkeeper, Segun Alabi thinking he’s averted the danger during match day 12 of the season.
Nwaobi who though praised his boys’ performance on the day, maintained that with calculated and concentrated effort the Abuja-based soccer outfit would pull through.
FC Taraba, Bauchi’s Wikki Feeders and Supreme Court with same points on the log are racing to avoid drop to the lower league side, Nation-wide league one next season.
However, coach Nwaobi asserted; “We can still go through, all hope is not lost. Who says we can’t pick maximum points in our two remaining games and remain in contention? It’s now left for our team especially the players to remain focused and fight till the end.
“Despite the defeat, we have fought hard enough to merit better placing on the league table but luck has not really been on our side. But anything can still happen in our final matches which will ensure we escape.”
Technical Adviser, Joachim Osuji who expressed disappointed after all noted that the judiciary team now to take its pound of flesh and be counted.
The Apex Boys will next weekend confront Dream FC of Makurdi away in one of match day 13 encounters before returning home to host Gombe United a week later.
